Dreamers College Tour

Dreamers Fall College Tour

During Fall Break, October 5th – 7th, 2010 twenty-eight now 11th grade Greensboro Dreamers, accompanied by four chaperones, visited six Georgia colleges and universities.  Each of these Dreamers had earned participation for this special trip by meeting specific program requirements in the key areas of grades, attendance, behavior, effort and community service.

College Visits, an organization which specializes in campus tours, arranged for half day private visits to the following schools:  Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), Valdosta State, Georgia Southern University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah State University and Middle Georgia College.

Note:  All of the Dreamers already had been to UGA, our special partner, on many occasions.  Twenty-four Dreamers visited eleven schools in Georgia as part of Spring Break last April.  Additionally small groups of Dreamers have visited several out of state schools in previous years.
Each attending Dreamer now has an even better understanding of the acceptance criteria, application process and college graduation requirements for each college visited.  They also now have a much better understanding of the variety of post secondary options available and what it will take for each of them to enroll in and graduate from the college of their choice.
